Seacoast Artists Association Board Meeting Minutes
March 15,2008

Present: David Dilts, Rick Sherman, Gene Galipeau, Francesca Fay, Reid Bunker, Doris Rice, Sally Mitchell, Tracy Latimere and Gerry Bresnahan

Meeting called to order at 9:05 by Dave Dilts;

Old Business:

Secretary's Report- Accepted

Board Member Search Committee: No responses at this time. David Dilts has agreed to stay on as President, Francesca Fay has volunteered to be Vice President. The positions needed are: Marketing and Publicity, Membership and Education.

Treasure's Report-The lease has been paid- $1500 a month. Back payment of $7500 has been paid. Income; December was up, January; $3,000 income: Feb, $2,800 income, middle of March, $2,400. This is mostly hanging feel

Marketing and Publicity Report- Barbara Scott not present;

Gallery Report- Gene Galipeau- Five new people hanging. Gene will generate a new list.
" Lease Agreement Discussion- ongoing discussion re; rent/ buy.
" Education Class Discussion- Sally Mitchell- Classes were to start Monday, March 10th, but one person had signed up at that time. There have been several questions from customers. David will make sure an email goes out to all sitters to direct people to class book. A suggestion was made to have little cards made up that states: Interested in a class? Call Instructors. Instructors need to have students check in or have a sign up sheet for all classes.
" Custom Bag Status: In the works, 16 x20 recycled.
" Store Front Sign Discussion. On hold
" Newsletter Report- Natalie Timmons- not present
" Workshops and Demo Discussion- Nancy Nelson- Doris will remind her to keep a history.
" Annual Meeting and Scholarship Awards: May 21 Sign up for food- soda, Pot luck. David will invite Barbara Corbet to the next meeting.

Next Meeting scheduled: April 19th at 9:00 am.

Meeting was adjourned at 10:05 am.

" Sculpture plan discussion- Gene has people, discussion of price, setting and sitting obligations. Gene will get pictures of works for Board preview. Decisions of where to place works and need for locked, glass display case. Revisit next meeting.

Newsletter Report- Natalie not present
Great job. We need to gear up for "election of new officers". Ballots should go out soon.

Workshops and Demo: Raise the membership fee to cover costs.

Exhibits and Shows: Winter Show, we need to find a new place for this show. May need be placed in the newsletter. Summer show is offered at the Old Town Hall with artifacts and art of Exeter.
