Seacoast Artists Association Board Meeting Minutes From December 15, 2007

Present:
David Dilts, Rick Sherman, Gene Galipeau, Francesca Fay, Tracie Lanternier, Reid Bunker, Gerry Bresnahan.

Secretary's Report:
There were no meeting minutes from November.

Treasure's Report:
Budget Discussion; Profit of 2,290.00. Discuss ways to raise money to stay in black. Membership dues increase, hanging fees, Workshops, renting space for classes. Switch Small Arts Gallery to a regular gallery since there is a waiting list for the gallery space. The need for a 2007-2008 budget was discusses. Dave Dilts will put one together.
501 Effort Discussion; David read Lyn Joselyn's letter resigning from the position of Vice President. Need to find a replacement for the position of Vice President and a person to help with the 501 status. Discussion of staying a "for profit" organization. This discussion will continue to be reviewed as to whether to look into grants, joining Exeter, etc.

Marketing and Publicity Report: (Barbara Scott not present)
The sign was removed from old gallery. Ali Pike will do a sign for the door.
Business After Hours, Jan. 10, 2008 from 5-7 pm. Cost $300. to host.

Gallery Report: (Gene Galipeau- Annick not present)
Bylaws for the gallery and the need to follow them when an artist is not fulfilling duties.
Education Committee Report: Danielle Genovese is resigning. Gallery Hanging Committee :( Maria Simms not present). Need to contact other artists to increase space for fiber artists and pottery. (contact Natalie Timmons to place in newsletter).

Newsletter Report: (Natalie Timmons not present)

Workshops and Demo Discussion:
Art Walk, before Valentines Day then one near Mother's Day. Francesca will do the art work for February 7th, Reid will assist. From 5-7 pm. Next show will be at the Drake Farm. Doris Rice and Annick are usually involved with this. The NH Society of Photographic Art at the Town Hall Gallery Jan 5 to Feb.
